The modification enhances the even wear characteristics across the tread and provides longer tyre life. Recent testing against the current AT3 also showed a slight improvement in both handling and wet braking.
*WHY TIE-BARS? A common occurrence in block-type patterns is the shifting/ squirming of the tread blocks independently which can lead to uneven wear. A tie-bar joins these blocks together and acts as a strut providing additional support for a more uniform movement which helps promote even tread wear and longer tyre life.
